It is Sinhalas country

If this is not Sinhalas country whose country is it? Those who oppose the idea that it is Sinhalas country, will not say that it is Tamil’s country or Muslim’s country either. Instead they will argue that it is everybody’s country or it is Sri Lankan’s country. I get it.  Everybody has equal rights to it. Sinhalas do not deny it. But is it Sri Lankan’s country in the same sense that it is Sinhalas country?

In other words who fought Elara, the Pandyas, the Cholas, the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English? Is it the Sri Lankans or the Sinhalas? Clearly it is the Sinhalas who, as a nation, fought to keep this country independent from foreign rule.

Sinhalas by building a nation in this country and fighting for the sovereignty of that nation have earned, as a nation, not as individuals, (a) the right to say that this is their country. This right is different from the (b) rights of all individual citizens of this country who can claim that this is his or her country.

That difference is an important one. This difference between (a) and (b) should not be allowed to fade away for the political convenience of Pakayas.

It is also important to note that when Sinhalas say that it is their country it is not to deny the Tamils or Muslims of rights (a) and (b). It is to safeguard the foundation of this nation.

Ideally it is good if Tamils and Muslims too believe that it is their forefathers who fought to keep this country independent from Elara, the Pandyas, the Cholas, the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English and by extension that this is their country. If believing so make them Sinhalas; that is fine. If that make them Sri Lankans instead; that is fine too. Then we can all happily say that this is Sri Lankans country. But politically we haven’t gotten there yet. We can and we should.

But can we get there by denying that this is Sinhalas country? If we deny that it is Sinhalas country it cannot be either Tamils country or Muslims country. It will  literally be someone else’s country. That would be Pakayas. You don’t want that to happen. Do you?

    1. There would have been people of different ethnicity in the Kings army. My question is who were they fighting for? Were the Keralas fighting for the sovereignty of a Kerala nation in Sri Lanka or were they fighting for the sovereignty of the Sinhala (Hela) nation?

Then what happened to the children and grand children of those Keralas? Didn't they become Sinhalas? To who should they say this country belong to Keralas?

  3. What an excellent article!

Pakayas are primarily the White Christian Imperialists and their ass lickers (Kalu Suddas) who are among us. These Kalu Suddas and their masters are hell bent to destroy the Sinhalese Buddhist civilization that built this nation with its unique culture which was defended by Sinhalese Buddhists for two and half millennia laying down their lives against foreign invaders and their local stooges here. Indian expansionists who are also held bent to see the decimation of the Sinhalese Buddhist civilization have also firmly been behind these Pakayas. What we saw on 08th Jan 2015 is the victory of Pakayas and their cohorts after a sustained and brilliantly orchestrated vilification and demonizing programme against Sinhalese Buddhist civilization!
